Ideal for the SRNA and experienced CRNA

I have used this book almost daily in my clinical settings. It fits right in my back pocket so it is easy to carry with me in the OR and to emergent out of OR situations. Many of my preceptors have used it to reference specific data that is not used on a regular basis. Much more in-depth than the Anesthesia Brain and less than half the price!
A quick reference for the OR

The Handbook of Anesthesiology is an excellent tool to quickly look up medications and procedures. It's small, compact size is easily carried. Overall, it is an excellent resource!
Easy to read

I have read previous editions of this book. I consider this book to be a good easy to read book during the first couple of weeks of anesthesia residency. Although it is not meant to be a detailed all-inclusive anesthesia resource, it certainly does cover 80+ percent of the subjects most likely to be encountered during morning reports and questions and answers sessions with anesthesia staff. I consider its contents to be high-yield during the early steep learning curve period of anesthesia training. However, it does have quite a few mistakes, but it does expose high-yield subjects that will be repeated again and again during training.
